Steve's Blog

I try to use this blog to record something about my life everyday.

My Photo
Name: Steve Brown
Location: Little Rock, Arkansas, United States

On December 31, 2007 I left my job with Sprint/Embarq where I worked as a Software Engineer for 15 years at the Sprint Campus in Kansas City. In January 2008 Mary and I started Steve Brown Ministries and started traveling the United States broadcasting "Live Video" of Revivals, Bible Conferences, Mission Conferences, and other Special Services. Mary and I enjoy serving the Lord Jesus Christ and traveling to churches as we minister through SteveBrownMinistries.com. We are very pleased that our ministry is endorsed and we are sent out of our home church at Heritage Baptist Temple in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Dr. Tom Wallace - Fantastic

I don't think I have ever heard Dr. Tom Wallace preach before today. I not only got to hear him but we heard him twice and I was able to video him both times. He is 80 years old and a fantastic preacher. His messages today blessed my soul. I hope to have the messages archived very soon. Maybe even tonight sometime. These would be great messages to watch on SteveBrownMinistries.com.

Ready to Broadcast

We spent the day setting up at Faith Baptist Church in Gulfport, Mississippi. I believe we are ready to broadcast the live video stream starting in the morning. It was a big relief that they allowed me set up down on the main floor instead of the balcony. Setting up on the balcony would require me to make 100's of trips up and down the stairs running cables. I just was not up to doing that.

Disappointed

We voted on a new pastor tonight at our church. We just knew in our heart that Paul Davis would be our next pastor but he did not get the vote. We have now been about 9 months without a pastor. I am afraid things are falling appart at our church. I am still trusting God in this matter but am wondering what this means to our church.

Home Safe and Sound from Calhoun, Georgia

Praise the Lord! We made it home safe once more. It seems like the truck traffic between Little Rock and Memphis gets worse everytime we make the trip. Seems like all those trucks should be on a train. Glad to be home again.

We Made It To Birmingham, Alabama

We got away from Calhoun, Georgia a little after noon today and headed over to the JVC Repair Center a little east of Atlanta to drop off our professional DVD recorder that has not been working correctly. We made it to Birmingham, Alabama before we bedded down for the night. We hope to make it home sometime tomorrow night.

Final Day at The Jubilee on the Hill

This morning was our final service for the 2010 Jubilee on the Hill at Philadelphia Baptist Church in Calhoun, Georgia. Today was Christian School Day and the there were 5 Christian Schools present. The building was packed out. And I do mean PACKED out. I thought the message at the end by Evangelist Dean Neese was outstanding.

Mary and I spent the evening until after 10:00 p.m. packing and loading our equipment. I did have some help at the very end when I needed it the most to load the tubs into the van. Thank you Aaron for your help.

The Inman Family

We sure have enjoyed the Inman Family this week. I think they are somewhat Amish in the way they live. They have got to be the closet knit family I have ever saw. The whole family sings and plays music instruments. I love listen to their music. They are a very sweet family.

A Shout'n Good Time Tonight

The message titled, "Whom Say Ye That I Am?", by Evangelist Randy Bane caused a lot of shouting in the service tonight. This has got to be one of the best Jubilees/Campmeetings in America. We have really enjoyed the services here at Philadelphia Baptist Church in Calhoun, Georgia. There is such a good spirit here. I sure hope we get to come back next year.

Mega Lunch

We enjoyed a great second day of the Jubilee on the Hill at Philadelphia Baptist Church in Calhoun, Georgia. The food here is out of sight. And the desserts are to die for. I just can't believe how much food these folks make available to us. We're loving it.

A Great Valentine's Day

We enjoyed a fantastic first day for the "Jubilee on the Hill" at Philadelphia Baptist Church in Calhoun, Georgia. The building was packed out tonight. What an exciting church. I am so glad we got to be here again this year.

A Great Day Setting Up At Philadelphia Baptist

I am worn out but we had a great day setting up at Philadelphia Baptist Church in Calhoun, Georgia. We woke up to a blanket of snow on the ground but most of it melted off the roads this afternoon. That's the kind of snow I like.

Driving All Night In The Snow

A little after midnight this morning I looked at the Weather Bug and saw and band of snow across the three states that we had to cross to get to our next meeting in Calhoun, Georgia. We deciced that we better load our stuff and head to Georgia. It took us until 2:00 a.m. to get loaded and get the house back to the way we found it when we arrived in Bogalusa. We drove through some pretty nasty snow in Mississippi and Alabama. We saw lots of wrecks. There was one Fedex tractor trailor off out in the bushes. We made it to Philadelphia Baptist Church in Calhoun, Georgia about noon and went to bed for a few hours. It started snowing in Calhoun just after we arrived. I am so glad we drove through the night and did not wait until this morning to make the trip.

Our Last Night in Bogalusa, Louisiana

Pastor Jamesa Lyle called a long time Pastor friend, Bro. Billy Ray Bond from Perkingston, Mississippi to come finish up our week of revival meetings. Bro. Billy Ray preached a wonderful message tonight titled, "Are You Still Praying?". Some of the church folks helped us pack and load our equipment in the rain after church.

Lots of Water but No Shower

We are enjoying lots of water in the very nice house we are staying in, but there is not a shower. We took our first bath in this huge tub today. I miss the shower.

No Water

We did not have any water at the house we are staying in yesterday. The pastor and deacon came over and got the water going. When Mary and I came home last night we had water but no hot water. While I was searching for the hot water heater I found a huge water fall coming out of the ceiling in the building next door. I shut the water off immediately. When we got up this morning we had to get ready for church without any water. Today several folks came over and found a way to get us water without it going to the building that had the huge leak. They found the hot water heater in the attic and lit it. Tonight it appears that we have lots of water and the hot water is working. This is a very big and very nice house but the two bathrooms do not have a shower. They both have a huge Jacuzzi bath tubs. Weird!

Big Setup Day at Freedom Baptist

We spent the day setting up our equipment at the Freedom Baptist Church in Bogalusa, Louisiana. The people are always so very nice to us here. The church family spent the day cleaning and sprucing up the church while we did our setup. The ladies fixed us all a very nice lunch in the felloship hall. We enjoyed the day at Freedom Baptist.

Great Night At Our Church

The Spirit of The Lord was very much present tonight at Heritage Baptist Temple. We are so glad we did not miss church tonight. It was great.

Mary's got me hooked on this Farmville thing. I must stop spending so much time with it. We have to leave for Bogalusa, Louisana Friday and I'm not anywhere close to being ready to leave. There is so much yet to do. DVD and CD labels to design. An album cover to design. Loading the van and I can not forget anything or we won't be able to do our job when we get there.

Bryant Versus Central High School Girls Basket Ball

We went to see Bryant Girls Basketball team beat Central High School tonight. Our granddaughter was featured in the half-time show. Her team showed how the "Team of Tomorrow" would handle the basket ball. They were very good. We had to leave before the game was over but the girls basketball teams seemed to be out for blood. It was a good game to watch. They played hard.

Nero DVD Images

I am tired of carrying around all the master DVD disk all over the country. They have become a big load and bulky. I started today making Nero DVD images and saving them to a hard drive. This will help a little with the load we carry.
