Steve's Blog

I try to use this blog to record something about my life everyday.

My Photo
Name: Steve Brown
Location: Little Rock, Arkansas, United States

On December 31, 2007 I left my job with Sprint/Embarq where I worked as a Software Engineer for 15 years at the Sprint Campus in Kansas City. In January 2008 Mary and I started Steve Brown Ministries and started traveling the United States broadcasting "Live Video" of Revivals, Bible Conferences, Mission Conferences, and other Special Services. Mary and I enjoy serving the Lord Jesus Christ and traveling to churches as we minister through SteveBrownMinistries.com. We are very pleased that our ministry is endorsed and we are sent out of our home church at Heritage Baptist Temple in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Faith: The Twin Sister of Prayer

I think the message this morning by Dr. Tom Williams is one of the best I have heard in a long time. I would admonish everybody to watch it. It is truly touching. Watch it on SteveBrownMinistries.com. Look for the title, "Faith: The Twin Sister of Prayer" on Wednesday morning 9-30-2009 or I guess it would be easier to just click HERE.

A Long Day At The Intercessor Conference

I left the motel this morning about 7:30 a.m. and did not get back to the motel until after 11:00 p.m. tonight. It's been a great day and I am thoroughly enjoying the conference but it sure is hard to stay alert at the cameras for these long meetings. I think I need an assistant camera operator.

Dr. Tony Hutson

Dr. Tony Hutson preached the second message tonight at the National Intercessor Prayer Conference here in Greenville, South Carolina. He has to be the most unusual preachers I have ever heard. I love him. He sure has a way of keeping your attention. You can view it on SteveBrownMinistries.com

National Intercessor Ministries Conference

Today was the first day of the National Intercessor Ministries Conference at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Greenville, South Carolina. Everything went pretty well except that I miss Mary very much. I made a mess out of her job recording the music to CD this morning. Tonight I recruited some help and things went much better. We had a great first day of the conference. I really enjoyed Dr. Benny Beckum tonight. He was every bit as good as the last time I heard him speak in Corpus Christi, Texas last year.

Video Setup At Tabernacle Baptist Church

I spent another hard 10 hour day completing the setup of our video equipment in the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Greenville, South Carolina. I did eat one meal today. I took time to eat supper about 5:30 p.m. and then back to church until about 8:30 p.m. I think I am ready to start broadcasting the services in the morning at 11:00 a.m. EDT. They have the greatest line-up of America's best preachers that I have ever witnessed. This is truly an exciting week for me. I encourage all who will to tune into the Live Video Broadcast this week through Thursday night on SteveBrownMinistries.com, then click "Live Streaming Video".

All Night Drive To Greenville, SC

I just kept driving until I got to the Hampton Inn in Greenville, South Carolina about 5:30 a.m. this morning. They let me check in early so I went to bed and slept until noon. I spent the rest of the day setting up for the National Intercessor Pray Conference at the Tabernacle Baptist Church. I got away from the church about 10:00 p.m. tonight. It's been a long day.

2009 Honda Fit

We finally made a deal on the 2009 Honda Fit that we have been driving for the past 8 or 9 days. It is bright red and looks pretty much like the one Mary wrecked over in Goodland, Kansas. Lee let us use his old 1986 Ford pick-up as a trade-in. We got enough out of his Ford to pay the sales tax. That was a blessing.

Supper At Lee's

Lee, Preston, and Drew had us over for supper tonight. Lee was hurting a lot but he insisted on fixing us and the boys supper tonight. The meal was fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Packing and Loading At Heritage

I spent a long day at Heritage packing and loading our video equipment today. I'm still trying to figure the best way to load our equipment in our New Express Van with the bins and shelves in it.

Sunday At Heritage

I was able to leave our video equipment setup at Heritage Baptist Temple from the Parenting Conference this past week. I did the video for the normal Sunday Services today.

Our son, Lee, rear-ended a car this evening and we spent until after 2:00 a.m. in the emergency room with him. They did not find any factures but his back is really hurting him a lot.

Gatlinburg, Tennessee to Home

We made it home from Gatlinburg after bedtime tonight. It's been a long day. The traffic was horrible from Gatlinburg to the I-40. Tt took well over an hour to drive that short distant.

Gatlinburg Here We Come

We spent the morning packing our equipment and loading it into our van. Some of the men showed up to help and saved my poor aching back a lot of straining. We left Moravian Falls, North Carolina about 1:00 p.m. or so. We stopped off in Gatlinburg, Tennessee to spend the night. Downtown was as busy as ever with tourist. We enjoyed a great meal on the strip and sat on a bench on the street until way after dark watching people, antique cars, and motorcycles. There was a motorcycle meet over in Maggie's Valley and an antique car show over in Pigeon Forge. So we had plenty to look at.

24 Hours and Our Mixer Is Still Wet

We took our Behringer 2442FX Mixer to the motel and put a fan on it in the air conditioned room hoping it would dry out. After 24 hours it still does not work.

Our Behringer 2442FX Mixer Got Wet

I did not cover our equipment when I left the campmeeting at noon today. About 3:00 p.m. I told Mary it looked like big rain coming. We headed to the campmeeting and the rain started before we got there. A leak in the roof of the outdoor Tabernacle got our Behringer 2442FX Mixer wet. We dried it out and put an electric heater blowing on it but at service time it would not work. I did some hay wiring and got the audio working for the broadcast.

Beans, Taters, Corn Bread and Greens

They served beans, potatoes, corn bread and greens for supper at the camp tonight. I loved it. Might be my favorite meal of the week at the campmeeting.

A Long Day

We have not gotten much sleep lately and I sure wanted to sleep-in this morning but we had to be at the outdoor Tabernacle and get ready for the first service at 9:00 a.m. With showers, dressing, a long drive to the Tabernacle from the motel and then a great breakfast at the camp, we had to start early.

First Day of Campmeeting

Our first day at the Campmeeting went well. It looked like rain but it never came. It was great to meet old friends that we met here last year. This is a picture I shot last year of the dinning hall on the right and the outdoor Tabernacle on the left.

Moravian Falls, North Carolina

We left McDonough, Georgia this morning about 8:30 a.m. and arrived in Moravian Falls, North Carolina about 3:30 p.m. We spent up into the night setting up the equipment so we can be ready for the campmeeting starting in the morning.

Darrell and Leila Went to Church With Us

It was our great privilage to have Mary's brother and his wife at the campmeeting tonight. It was a great service and they seemed to really enjoy it.

I still did not get to bed early because I had to stay after church and pack all our equipment. We have to leave first thing in the morning for Moravian Falls, North Carolina.

Up Very, Very Late

Darrell (Mary's brother) and Leila kept us up very late tonight watching the DVD from the services. It was after 1:00 a.m. before we got to bed. They promised to go with us tomorrow night so we don't have to stay up late watching the DVD.

Fantastic Lunch

One of the ladies in the church fixed lunch for us today so we went over to enjoy it. It was fantastic. Home grown beans, corn, greens, salad, etc. It was quite a spread. We throughly enjoyed ourselves.
