Steve's Blog

I try to use this blog to record something about my life everyday.

My Photo
Name: Steve Brown
Location: Little Rock, Arkansas, United States

On December 31, 2007 I left my job with Sprint/Embarq where I worked as a Software Engineer for 15 years at the Sprint Campus in Kansas City. In January 2008 Mary and I started Steve Brown Ministries and started traveling the United States broadcasting "Live Video" of Revivals, Bible Conferences, Mission Conferences, and other Special Services. Mary and I enjoy serving the Lord Jesus Christ and traveling to churches as we minister through SteveBrownMinistries.com. We are very pleased that our ministry is endorsed and we are sent out of our home church at Heritage Baptist Temple in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Abiding in Christ

We spent our New Years eve in church. Bro. Larry preached one of his best messages about Abiding in Christ. I must listen to it again.

My brother accross the street rang the big bells every hour until midnight. I heard them at 10:00 p.m. but missed the rest. I slept the new year in.

Another Day In The Bath Room

Scott and I spent another hard day in the bathroom. We got the floor replaced and ready for the tile. We had to make another trip to Lowes for more supplies. This is really getting to be an expensive bath room.

A Hard Day With Scott Remodling His Bath

Scott took the day off work today and we spent the day buying and hauling new stuff for their bathroom. We put up the new sheet rock on the ceiling and tore out a big hole in the wall so we could get the new tub and shower into the bath room.

Another Day in Scott and Laura's Bathroom

Laura and kids were home today and helped me bag and carried out all the sheet rock I tore out yesterday.

I then removed the old bath tub and toilet. I also tore out about 1/3 of the floor down to the floor joists.

I think we are ready to start building it back.

Wrecked Out Scott and Laura's Bathroom

I went over this afternoon and wrecked out all the sheet rock in Scott and Laura's master bathroom.

With a wrecking bar and a big hammer I created quite a mess.

They started this project back in October and it seemed like they needed a little help.

Christmas Day 2006

We ended up at Lee and Angela's house this morning. Robby and Rachael spent the night with us and we all enjoyed a great brunch together.

Lee brought the boys new motorcycles up to the house this afternoon. Preston wreched a couple times and left him kind of bunged up.

Lee decided to rides Preston's bike and it flipped him in the mud. He went home hurting pretty bad.

Christmas With Mary's Side Of The Family

We had most of Mary's brothers and their families over to our house this afternoon to celebrate Christmas. We had a very enjoyable time with them. We enjoyed lots of goodies.

Christmas with the Grandkids

We had all the kids and grandkids over to our house this afternoon to celebrate Christmas.

This morning I crushed my new RC Airplane again and broke the tail. I still have not flown it.

All the grandkids got their new RC Airplanes and we went out to the pasture to let them fly them. They were all crashed and non-flyable within about 10 minutes. So much for RC Airplanes for kids less than 11 years old.

We smoked a turkey for our Christmas dinner this evening. We had a great time.

Crashed New RC Airplane

I thought I would get a head start on the kids new electric airplanes so Mary got me one too. I crashed it within seconds of the launch and broke the main wing in half.

Airplanes For The Grandkids

We went to Mark's Hobby Shop today and bought 4 electric airplanes for the grandkids. This RC Airplane Hobby turns out to be an expensive hobby.

First Day of Christmas Vacation

I spent a little time working this morning but today is my first day of Christmas Vacation. I don't have to go back to work until 1-2-2007.

Stepping Out Of The Boat

Mary and I are taking a video course titled, "If You Want To Walk On Water, You've Got To Get Out Of The Boat". The material is wonderful but we are having a really hard time with it. Trying to figure out what our gifts are is a problem for us. I guess we're not ready to step out of the boat yet, but we are praying hard about it.

Discovered New Radio Stations

I spent a great deal of time this evening trying some new radio stations I discovered on live365.com. They say they have over 10,000 radio stations. I only had time to try a few.

Mary, Did You Know? - A Christmas Musical

Seems like we spent the entire day at church today. We both sang in the choir tonight for the Christmas Musical. It turned out to be a very good service. We enjoyed it, except for being too hot. Someone stole two of our air conditioning compressors.

Christmas Shopping

We went to town with Lee to do some Christmas Shopping for the grandkids this morning. We ended up at Mark's Hobby Shop on Cantrel.

We spent a couple hours this afternoon with Lee at Crytall Hill setting up some audio equipment and testing it with him.

Time To Go Back To Arkansas Already

I can't believe it. It's time to go back to Arkansas already. Seems like we just got to Kansas City. We only made one stop and got home in Little Rock in just under 6 hours. I don't want to do that again. I need to stop more often.

Free Lunch With Andy

I went to lunch with Andy today to learn how to make money on the internet with Quixtar. I enjoyed my free lunch very much while I listened to Andy's friend tell me about Quixtar. It sounded too much like a pyramid scheme to me and I could not sign up for it.

Trouble With The Live Streaming From LR

We tried to attend Crystal Hill's live streaming service tonight but finally gave up and tuned into the live streaming from First Family Church here in Overland Park. We really enjoyed the service.

Mary's Voice Not Up To Par

We tried to make a few recording this evening but Mary's voice is just not up to it. We gave up and listened to Rejoice Radio instead.

Back To Kansas City with Mary

I worked from our home in Little Rock today and then Mary and I drove back to Kansas City. We did not get there until nearly mid-night.

Bradley & Ashley's Christmas Program

After a great day at Crystal Hill including the evening choir practice we went over to Temple Baptist to enjoy the annual Christmas program. Bradley and Ashley did great with their part, but the little ones that played the part of the cattle were more like wild cattle. They were all over the place. There was never a dull moment.

Christmas Choir Practice

I made it to my first Christmas Choir Practice this morning. The rest of them have been working on the musical since September. I hated to crash the party but some insisted that I come on and help out. They had lots of great pizza after the practice. It was great. I enjoyed my time there.

Dinner with Mary, Preston and Drew

I made it to Little Rock in time for supper with Mary, Preston and Drew this evening. I drove out of the snow before I got to Arkansas somewhere about Anderson, Missouri.

Three Fountains Christmas Dinner

Three Fountains provided a nice Christmas dinner for the residents this evening from Zio's in the Clubhouse. The pie was the best. They gave away $200 in free rent but I did not win it.

Mile and A Half Walk

Chris and I are doing good at work with our noon walk. We walk the mile and a half around the Sprint Campus on most days. Today was a very nice day to walk. There is still lots of snow around but with a light jacket it was very nice to be out.

Decorated For Christmas

As I sat here this evening I kept wondering what I could accomplish before going to bed. After failing to get jetCast Server working again, I gave up and worked on the church website. I made an ad for the upcoming Christmas Musical and decorated the church logo with Christmas stuff. I think Mary think's I over did it. Maybe she'll send me something better.

First Ever - Live Streaming From Crystal Hill

I throughly enjoyed listening to the live streaming audio from Crystal Hill Baptist Church this morning and this evening. I even attended choir practice via the live streaming audio.

Lee worked hard all day long making this possible for me and others to hear. He was really tired at the end of the day. He managed to make several trips up to the sound booth with his cane and they brought him a special chair to sit in while he did his duties. THANK YOU LEE.

Working With jetCast Server

I spent a lot of time today trying to get jetCast Server to work with jetCast. I had to give up. I could not figure it out.

Lee took his laptop to church and hooked it up the the PA System and Mary sang from the pulpit and it sounded great. Now we are ready for live streaming audio for the service tomorrow. I can't wait to tune in from Kansas City.

I had hoped to drive to Little Rock this weekend but we still have lots of snow.

Live Streaming Audio With jetCast

After many hours of research and testing I think we are ready to try streaming the live services this coming Sunday morning with jetCast from Cowon America. jetCast is part of the jetAudio download. I tested it from me to Mary and Lee. Then I had Lee install it and he tested it from Little Rock to me. Tomorrow I hope to get Lee to test it from the church P.A. and be ready for Sunday.

I added a new Live Streaming Link and page to our website for this project.
