Steve's Blog

I try to use this blog to record something about my life everyday.

My Photo
Name: Steve Brown
Location: Little Rock, Arkansas, United States

On December 31, 2007 I left my job with Sprint/Embarq where I worked as a Software Engineer for 15 years at the Sprint Campus in Kansas City. In January 2008 Mary and I started Steve Brown Ministries and started traveling the United States broadcasting "Live Video" of Revivals, Bible Conferences, Mission Conferences, and other Special Services. Mary and I enjoy serving the Lord Jesus Christ and traveling to churches as we minister through SteveBrownMinistries.com. We are very pleased that our ministry is endorsed and we are sent out of our home church at Heritage Baptist Temple in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Trouble Galore

I found out this morning that I did not have the audio hooked up to my DVD recorder last night. Thus there was not sound on the DVD. I have had a fear of doing this since I started this ministry. I finally got it done last night. The DVD is useless without sound.

Now my JVC DVD Recorder is causing trouble and produced another bad DVD that I can not duplicate. I brought another DVD recorder at Sam's this afternoon. I still messed up a bunch of DVD's tonight because of the bad recorder. Then my lable printer acted up and I ended the meeing tonight with only about 8 good DVD's. There were quite a few folks that wanted a DVD and we could not provide them. I was pretty stressed out by the time we finished.

Then we had to pack and load all the equipment. David and a few men from the church helped us but I was still about to drop by the time we left the church after mid-night.

Lord, Please help me not go grow weary in well doing.

Not Enough Sleep

This is the second week of Preaching and singing all day long and up into the night. One meeting would be hard doing what we do, but two meetings back to back and all day and night is wearing on Mary and I. The meeting are great but our bodies are not keeping up with the pace very well. Next week it will be only one service every night and none in the day time. Maybe we'll get caught up on our sleep.

BEAMS Pastors Conference

Tonight was the first night of the BEAMS Pastors Conference at Faith Baptist Church in Gulfport, Mississippi. The singing and preaching were great. I especially enjoyed the singing by Tim Gordon and the preaching by Dr. J. D. Weido from ElDorado, Arkansas. It was a special treat to have my pastor, Dr. David Smith from Little Rock here with us tonight.

BEAMS Institute of Missions

We made two DVD's today of the BEAMS Institute of Missions Sessions. The morning DVD seems to be okay, but this afternoon something weird happened. The DVD has 4489 MB of data on it and will not duplicate because there is more data than a DVD can contain. I have never had this happen before. I hope this does not mean my JVC DVD Recorder is going out on me. I'm in a real dilemma here.

Setup at BEAMS Headquarters

We slept in this morning and I feel very much rested. Thank you Lord for the extra sleep.

My brother David met me at the BEAMS Headquarters about 11:00 a.m. and we spent the rest of the day setting up our equipment for the first session of the BEAMS Institute of Missions Monday morning. We will only make DVD's and CD's. There will be no broadcast. They want this just for the BEAMS Missionaries that are present.

Milan, Tennessee to Gulfport, Mississippi

The men at Immanuel Baptist helped us pack our equipment this morning and we got away from Millan, Tennessee about 1:00 p.m.

We arrived in Gulfport, Mississippi about 7:30 P.M. Another tiring day. We are ready for the bed.

Tremendous Preaching

If you missed the Live Broadcast of the camp meeting tonight you really should watch the archive files on SteveBrownMinistries.com. This was certainly a great night to be in God's House. The Tackett Family were fantastic and the preaching was the best ever. I love camp meeting. Thank you Lord for letting me do what I do.

The Rochester Family

The Rochester Family came to the camp meeting in Milan, Tennessee in a huge bus. They were a huge blessing to the camp meeting. I think they may be the most talented musicians I have been with in a meeting. They let me hook into their sound system and the music was tremendous. The crowd loved them.

21st Annual There Is Hope Camp Meeting

Wow! What a blessing to be a part of a camp meeting that's been around for 21 years. The service tonight was just outstanding. The singing has been good. The preaching has been good and the food has been good. Tonight for dessert I had fresh strawberry short cake with soft serve ice cream on top. A body could truly hurt their self with this kind of eating. We are truly enjoying ourselves here at the Immanuel Baptist Church in Milan, Tennessee.

Ready for Camp Meeting

I started about 9:00 a.m. this morning and worked until about 9:00 p.m. tonight getting settup and ready for service in the morning. It seemed like I just kept walking in circles all day. I am worn to a frazzle but I think I am ready to broadcast the Camp Meeting. The Camp Meeting actually starts Monday but tomorrow is kind of a prelude.

They fed us a fabulous meal tonight here in the fellowship hall where we are staying. They cooked all afternoon on a huge BBQ grill. They even have a soft serve ice cream machine in the kitchen. It was great.

Milan, Tennessee

We start ten straight weeks of meetings this afternoon. We got away from home much later than we planned but we still arrived at Immanuel Baptist Church in Milan, Tennessee about 8:30 tonight. We are a little over 20 miles north of Jackson, Tennessee. We're settled into a room here at the church and we'll spend the day tomorrow setting up our equipment.

Great Crawfish

We finally had a chance to get with Lee, Scott and Lacey tonight for supper. We went to the New China buffet on Rodney Parham and had a great time together. I think the crawfish were better than what I had down in Louisiana last month. I had two big plates of huge crawfish. It was great.

Our Kubota Tractor

We have taken over Lee's Kubota Tractor. He is not able to do much with it any more. This afternoon I changed the oil and filters. I greased all the fitting that I could find. It had a tire that kept going flat. I brought a tire repair kit today and found three very small leaks in the tire. I plugged them all. I hope that takes care of the flat.

The Eye Doctor

I had to go to the eye doctor today. I sure hate to have the eye doctor take a pressure level of my eyes. I tear up and can not see. They say open wide and not blink. My eyes are burning and I can not keep them open much less keep from blinking. It was a real wrestling match between me and the doctor.

Doctor's Appointment

This was my six month checkup at the doctor's office. I'm still recovering from a cold last week and the doctor said I still have a little infection. He gave me an antibiotic. They also did a blood test to see that my daily meds are still working okay. Thank the Lord for good doctors. We are truly blessed.

While at church today my brother David gave me a DVD of the recent Heritage Missions Conference. Mary and I got interested in it and stayed up till midnight watching it. I am sorry we missed the Missions Conference. It was a great conference and we thoroughly enjoyed watching the DVD.

Mileage for 2008

I spent a big part of my day figuring and recording the miles that Mary and I drove last year for SteveBrownMinistries.com. As best as we can figure it we drove 17,323 miles to Bible Conferences, etc. across America last year.

A New Crown

I have been having trouble with one of my crowns and dentist say it had to be replaced. They did the grinding a couple days ago and gave me a temporary crown. Today I went back for the permanent crown. It feels normal again. Thank the Lord for good dentist.

Still Sneezing

I am still wrestling with a head cold and I feel rotten.

The Live Video Streaming at North Valley Baptist Church in Santa Clara, CA was great tonight.

Down with a Cold

I have just sat here like a zombie all day long. This evening I have sneezed my head off.

Fedex tried to cheer me up with a new TASCAM DR-100 Portable Digital Recorder. Mary will use it when she goes into a ladies breakout session at some of our conferences that we record. We'll now be able to produce a CD of the main session and the breakout session.

Producing Two New Music CD's

I spent a big part of my day today unloading the van and going through all the equipment. I now have our equipment scattered all over the garage and house. I hope I can get it back together in time for our next meeting.

Mary and I made two all music CD's of the Living Waters Camp Meeting tonight. We stayed up way too late listening to the CD after we finished it. I love it. You can get a copy on SteveBrownMinistries.com

A Long, Long Day

I have stared at the video monitor all day long and half the night. My eyes, brain, and body are very tired tonight. We had a great day at the Camp Meeting, but I must go to bed. We have another very long day again tomorrow. I love it and I love what we are doing but I am just worn out.
