Steve's Blog
I try to use this blog to record something about my life everyday.
About Me
On December 31, 2007 I left my job with Sprint/Embarq where I worked as a Software Engineer for 15 years at the Sprint Campus in Kansas City. In January 2008 Mary and I started Steve Brown Ministries and started traveling the United States broadcasting "Live Video" of Revivals, Bible Conferences, Mission Conferences, and other Special Services. Mary and I enjoy serving the Lord Jesus Christ and traveling to churches as we minister through SteveBrownMinistries.com. We are very pleased that our ministry is endorsed and we are sent out of our home church at Heritage Baptist Temple in Little Rock, Arkansas.

After the campmeeting tonight we went back to Darrell's (Mary's brother) house to spend the night. They wanted to watch the DVD that we made tonight so we were up past mid-night watching the service again with them. It was a great service.

Rhode Island, The Ocean State
I got my helper back today. Mary caught a flight from Little Rock to Rhode Island this morning and we picked her up a little after noon.
August and Patty Rosada treated Mary and I to the grand tour of Newport, Rhode Island this afternoon. Our first stop was the Via-Via Pizza Shop in Old Newport. This was Patty's all time favorite pizza. The All White Pizza.
They baked the pizza in an old time wood fired brick oven.
We enjoyed many miles of the Atlantic Ocean along the coast of Rhode Island.
They showed us many of the mansions in old Newport, Rhode Island.

Cape Quality Seafood House
I spent the day up until way after midnight setting up our video equipment in the Greater Rhode Island Baptist Temple in Johnston, Rhode Island. Our friends, Evangelist August and Patty Rosado took me out to eat an awesome seafood platter at the Cape Quality Seafood House somewhere over in Massachusetts. Brother August shared some of his Steamers with me. I loved them. I enjoyed some fried clams with the bellys for the first time in my life.

Final Night in Goodland, Kansas
We enjoyed a great night of singing and preaching at the Youth Conference at Bible Baptist Church. The men helped me pack and load our equipment after church. I am set to leave Goodland in the morning.
Mary called and said she is still on the bus. It's been 24 hours and she is still not home in Little Rock.

Mary Caught The Bus Bound For Arkansas
Mary needed to go to Arkansas to be with Lee. She drove the Honda Fit to Goodland, Kansas to be with me during the Youth Conference and then she had planned to head out in the morning in the Honda for Arkansas. Since she wrecked the Honda last Saturday we had to seek other transportation for her to go home. We try several rent car places that did not work out. She ended up on a Greyhound Bus at 12:30 a.m. in Colby, Kansas bound for Arkansas.

The First Patented Helicopter
We decided to visit the local museum here in Goodland, Kansas This afternoon. We learned that the first patented helicopter was built here in Goodland, Kansas. We saw a helicopter that was built to the patent specifications in the museum and a picture of the original. The museum proved to be very interesting and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

Youth Conference, Goodland, Kansas
We just completed our first day of the Youth Conference at Bible Baptist Church in Goodland, Kansas. This was our first time to hear Brother Steven Blankenship preach. He preached with power and excitment. We heard three messages by him today and I thought all of them were right on target. His is a great preacher.

Mary's Wreck
I was at Bible Baptist Church in Goodland, Kansas setting up our video equipment for the upcoming Youth Conference starting tomorrow when Mary called. There was fright in her voice and her voice was shaky. I knew something was wrong. She said I've had a wreck. Come back the way we always go. She was only 2 blocks from the church. The Police and Fire Rescue were everywhere. The ambulance came and put her on a backboard and took her to the hospital just a few blocks away. Everything in Goodland, Kansas is only a few blocks away. The hospital did a MRI and gave her a shot and a prescription to ease the pain. They knew she was going to hurt a lot as the hours wore on. They did not find anything really wrong so they released her.
Now we are a thousand miles from home with a wreck that is not drivable sitting in the church parking lot. I am not sure what the Lord is saying here but we praise him that Mary is okay and we have our van to drive.
The day ended with a beautiful sunset. Thank the Lord for the beauty that we are allowed to behold.

Journey to Goodland, Kansas
We completed our journey to Goodland, Kansas this evening. I went over to Bible Baptist Church to check out their layout. I have a plan and I'm ready to begin setting up our equipment in the morning. We found a little hole-in-the-wall Mexican Restaurant in town for supper. It was surprisingly good.

Bush hogging
I finally got around to mowing the yard again this afternoon.
After dark I started working on the videos from the last campmeeting. I am trying to get them ready for the archives. It seems like I am always behind on this task.

New Chevy Express Van
I think we finally have the extra room we need for our equipment and Clothes as we travel across America broadcasting the Live Video of Campmeetings, Jubilees and Bible Conferences. The Lord allowed us to trade our little KIA Mini-van for a full size Chevy Express Extended Cargo Van this afternoon.
One of the most stressful times during the past two years has been trying to get our clothes into the mini-van after loading all the video equipment. This new van is a huge blessing for us. Thank you Lord for your blessings.

Album with Five DVD's
This is our third meeting to offer an album of all the services on 5 DVD's. The folks at Victory Baptist Church seemed to appreciate the opportunity to purchase an album of the Tekoa Campmeeting and receive the DVD's immediately after each service. They bought every album I had with me.

We spent most of the day traveling to Shelbyville, Tennessee. Brother August and Patty Rosado helped me unload the equipment into the Victory Baptist Church. We worked a little While setting up our display. This puts us a little ahead of schedule setting up tomorrow. Maybe we'll have an easy day tomorrow.

Packing and Loading at New Blackjack
I spent the day packing up at New Backjack Baptist Church in Philadelphia, Mississippi. Tonight some of the folks helped me load the van. We are spending our last night in the little cabin on the pond in the woods.

The Golden Moon
Nearly every day this past week we have driven by the Golden Moon Casino on the way to New Blackjack Baptist Church. This afternoon I decided to stop and take a picture. It's a very unique building and is located on the Choctaw Indian Reservation.
Tonight after eating at Wendy's I stopped to get a night time shot of the Golden Moon.
We were told that there is a restaurant up in the moon.
This old pump organ is inside the New Blackjack Baptist Church. They still play the organ occasionally.

Lee's Steak House in Sebastopol, MS
The folks that are allowing us to use their cabin on the pond in the woods took us out to "Lee's Steak House" in Sebastopol, Mississippi. They drove us in their very nice van for what seemed like a hour to get there. It was well worth the drive. It was definitely one of the best steaks I have ever eaten. The Steak House was way out in the country. I thought they were lost but as we rounded a curve there it was with cars parked every where. Cars were even parked up and down the highway. People came from far and near to eat supper here. It was a very nice evening. Too bad Mary is off up in Kansas City with the grand babies and missed it.
