Steve's Blog

I try to use this blog to record something about my life everyday.

My Photo
Name: Steve Brown
Location: Little Rock, Arkansas, United States

On December 31, 2007 I left my job with Sprint/Embarq where I worked as a Software Engineer for 15 years at the Sprint Campus in Kansas City. In January 2008 Mary and I started Steve Brown Ministries and started traveling the United States broadcasting "Live Video" of Revivals, Bible Conferences, Mission Conferences, and other Special Services. Mary and I enjoy serving the Lord Jesus Christ and traveling to churches as we minister through SteveBrownMinistries.com. We are very pleased that our ministry is endorsed and we are sent out of our home church at Heritage Baptist Temple in Little Rock, Arkansas.

A Visit With The Doctor

I went to see Dr. Gray today about my shoulder, forearm, and colon. He sent me to a Physical Therapist who seems to already have helped my shoulder. They are setting up an appointment for a colonoscopy. I am dreading that.

A Visit With Logan

Preston and Drew were with us today and Mary fixed us a great breakfast. This afternoon we went to town and had a great visit with Logan Scott-Lee Brown. I love that name. Logan is growing like a weed and they are having a time feeding him enough. Scott and Lacey seemed to be very glad they are all home from the hospital.

Record Rain Falls - Dam Broke

We have had record rainfalls this past week. Lots of roads have been closed and finally yesterday evening the dam broke on a lake up above Lawson and County Line Roads.

Empty Lake After the Dam Broke

The dam broke yesterday evening and the whole lake came crashing down County Line Road below our house. It took trees and power lines down when the water swept across the road. It also took a lady in her car down stream and lodged her car in the trees. I am glad we are on top of the hill. Our neighbor estimated well over $500,000 in equipment, buildings and motor home damages.

Anna, A Prophetess

I enjoyed tonight's message at Heritage Baptist Temple by Brother Paul Davis titled, "Anna, A Prophetess". An unusual Christmas message but very challenging. The text was from the King James Bible, Luke 2:36-38.

A Day At The ER

We woke up to a phone call this morning from our son Scott. He was at Mary's brothers house. Her brother, Everette had fallen and they could not get him up. They called an ambulance. We spent until after 1:00 p.m. at the Baptist Medical Center in North Little Rock. They sent him back home and said he needed to be in a nursing home.

The Day After

It is still very hard to realize that I can't talk to my son Lee anymore. I can't call him. I can't ask his opinion. He's gone.

Dear Lord, thank you for Lee's life, but we sure do miss him.

Celebration of Lee Brown's Life

We miss Lee greatly. It seemed like he had so much potential but his body being racked with pain always knocked him down.

His funeral today could not have been better. Everybody was so wonderful to us. The singers did such an outstanding job. The sermon could not have been better. Mary and I praise the Lord that the Gospel was preached with such love. We are very happy that Lee was saved and we know he is in heaven today. He is no longer suffering with the pain that has plagued him for many years. His physical pain and mental suffering has been much more than I could ever bare. I am so proud of my son. He endured very well till the end. Thank you Lord for your Grace and Mercy.

Our Son Lee In A Casket

One of the hardest things that Mary and I have ever experienced was when we went to the funeral home this morning and saw our son in the that casket. It just should not be this way. He is such a handsome young man. We just don't want to give him up. I know he is much better off. He has suffered so much for many years. Praise the Lord he is saved and with the Lord now. He is not walking with that old walker anymore.

We Lost Our Oldest Son, Lee, This Morning

Mary tried all afternoon to get in touch with Lee and he never answered his phone. A little before midnight Preston and Drew called in a panic that they could not reach their Dad by phone and wanted Mary to get someone to go check on him.

Mary called Lee's friend, Suzi, and she and her boyfriend went to our house to check on him. They both are police offices and know CPR. They found Lee in trouble and tried to revive him. They rescue squad came and tried to revive him. The ambulance came and they said there was nothing more they could do and left. The Coroner came and pronounced Lee dead. The Coroner said he died of a massive heart attach.

We drove all night and arrived at home in Little Rock, Arkansas where friends and family were gathered to help and comfort us about 5:00 a.m. Thank God for friends and family.

Visitation will be Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m., December 8, 2009 at the "Dail & Dudley Funernal Home", at 4212 Hwy 5 North, Bryant, Arkansas 72022.
