Steve's Blog

I try to use this blog to record something about my life everyday.

My Photo
Name: Steve Brown
Location: Little Rock, Arkansas, United States

On December 31, 2007 I left my job with Sprint/Embarq where I worked as a Software Engineer for 15 years at the Sprint Campus in Kansas City. In January 2008 Mary and I started Steve Brown Ministries and started traveling the United States broadcasting "Live Video" of Revivals, Bible Conferences, Mission Conferences, and other Special Services. Mary and I enjoy serving the Lord Jesus Christ and traveling to churches as we minister through SteveBrownMinistries.com. We are very pleased that our ministry is endorsed and we are sent out of our home church at Heritage Baptist Temple in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Home Sweet Home

I have forgotten how long it's been since we were home but I know it's been a long time. We arrived home about 3:30 p.m. this afternoon.

Scott and Lacey invited us over to their house for supper. We picked up Lee, Preston, and Drew on the way. We enjoyed a fantastic supper and the pumpkin pie was outstanding. We enjoyed our visit. It's good to be home.

Packing and Moving On

We stayed up last night with some folks who wanted to help us take down our equipment so we slept in a little extra this morning. We spent the day packing and loading. We did not get away from Son Rise Baptist Church in Hartselle, Alabama until about 5:00 p.m. this evening. We arrived in Tupelo, Mississippi about 7:30 p.m. and the good folks at Lakeview Baptist let us spend the night in their Mission House. It is much nicer than a motel and saved us a motel bill tonight.

Unusual Ending To CampMeeting

We had two preachers scheduled to preach tonight but neither one of them got to preach. The folks got happy in the Lord and started coming to the Alter during the singing and then they started having testimonies and before you knew it the evening was gone and no preaching. It was a great service.

A Place Called Hell

This morning at the SonRise CampMeeting I think Missionary Toby Garrett preached the best message I have ever heard on Hell. He titled the message, "A Place Called Hell". The whole place seemed to be stunned at the conclusion of the message. The next preacher could not even preach his message because none of us could quit get over what we had just heard.

The Huddle House

We decided we needed a special treat tonight after CampMeeting. We enjoyed a terrific night at the CampMeeting, but on the way back to the motel we decided we needed to stop at the Huddle House. It's kind of like a Waffle House. We enjoyed a simple breakfast and decaf coffee so as not to keep me up too late.

Kyla Rowland

Tonight was another great night at the CampMeeting at SonRise Baptist Church in Hartselle, Alabama. Mrs. Kyla Rowland and singers were with us tonight for some great Gospel Music. She has been writting gospel music since 1971. We did not know it but we have been singing a lot of her songs for several years. It was very nice to meet her. They let me hook directly into their sound system which always produces great results on the videos and broadcast.

A Long Day Setting Up At Son Rise

I was at the Son Rise Baptist Church until after 11:00 p.m. tweaking and making sure we're ready for the broadcast and recording starting in the morning at 10:30 a.m. I was running late designing the DVD Album and DVD Label. I had to finish that and print the Album covers before I could quit tonight.

Son Rise Baptist Church, Hartselle, Alabama

We arrived in Hartselle, Alabama this evening where the church put into a very nice motel room at the Country Hearth Inn. After moving our clothes into the room I spent the evening setting up our video equipment at the Son Rise Baptist Church.

Living Waters Youth Camp, Hayden, Alabama

We left Tupelo, Mississippi this afternoon headed to Hartselle, Alabama. We stopped off at Green Pond Baptist Church in Green Pond, Alabama to hear our friend Bro. Mike Ragland preach. It seemed strange not to be running video cameras. We just sat and enjoyed the service. After church Bro. Mike and his wife treated us to supper at the local Cracker Barrel. Then they took us to Living Waters Youth Camp and gave us a VERY nice room to spent the night. It was much nicer than most motel rooms.

Adversity University Part 3

I really hate to see this series come to a close. I felt that Mary and I really needed the lessons that were taught this week. This is the final night with Bro. Marvin E. Smith III from Fort Dodge, Iowa teaching the Adversity University series.

Adversity University Part 2

I thought tonight's session with Bro. Marvin E. Smith from Fort Dodge, Iowa was excellent. He uses lots of Power Points to help make the points in his Adversity University.

Adversity University Part 1

This is a most unusual series. I did not realize what a friend adversity can be if we'll just accept God's will and training for our lives.

A Great Sunday at Lakeview Baptist

Youth Rally at Lakeview Baptist

We broadcast and made our first DVD this evening at the Regional Youth Rally held here at the Lakeview Baptist Church in Tupelo, Mississippi. We really enjoyed our evening here. They had great singing with the Champion Ensemble from Hot Springs, Arkansas. The Pastor and a man from the church did an excellent skit that was very entertaining to all of us. I laughed until I could not see to run the cameras with tears flowing. Then the young adults from the church did a most excellent play entitled, "Stay in the Castle". I thought they did a phenonmenal job. You would do well to view the skit and the play and the preaching.

Good-Bye Denham Springs, Louisiana

It seems like we just arrived in Denham Springs, Louisiana and here we are leaving already. The Lockhart Road Baptist Church was very good to us. They gave us a very nice place to stay and fed us like kings and queens. We got away about 3:00 p.m. and arrived in Tupelo, Mississippi about 8:45 p.m. tonight. The Lakeview Baptist Church is allowing us to stay in a very nice house next to the church. This may be the nicest place we have stayed all year. We'll start setting up tomorrow.

Will Christians Go Through The Tribulation

It was very good again tonight to reaffirm that we will not go through the Great Tribulation. It is a great Bible truth that we will be raptured up before the tribulation starts. Wow! What a blessing. Thank you Lord for that promise in your word.

A Very Short Night's Rest

I got to bed this morning about 4:30 a.m. I was so wound up that I could not go to sleep in spite of being very tired. I had to get back up at 8:30 a.m. in order to get to church for the first broadcast. I spent the afternoon at church trying to catch up on many unfinished task. Maybe I can sleep-in in the morning.

Freedom Baptist Church 10th Anniversary

Pastor James Lyle asked Mary and I if we would stick around for their 10th Anniversary Celebration today. It started at 10:00 a.m. with a break for a wonderful dinnner on the grounds at noon. We got out about 2:30 p.m. this afternoon and headed for our next meeting in Denham Springs, Louisiana.

We got to Lockhart Baptist Church in Denham Springs, Louisiana about 4:00 p.m. Some of the men helped me unload and started pulling cables. I finished setting up about 4:00 a.m. and layed my head down in bed about 4:30 a.m. A very short night's rest to say the least.

A Very Unusual Message Tonight

Dr. Tom Sooter is presenting some of the most unusual messages I think I have ever heard here in Bogalusa, Louisiana. Tonight has to be the best of the week so far. The message is titled, "Unbelieving Believers".

Power of The Imagination

Dr. Tom Sooter's message tonight was titled, "Power of The Imagination". A great message. I surely did not realize how powerful the imagination can be. This would be a great one to watch.

A Fantastic Meal After Church

The folks just out did themselves tonight. After church we were invited back to the fellowship hall for supper after church. I am pretty sure we ate way too much tonight. The food was just wonderful. Then came the dessert. Oh my! What a meal!

Setup at Freedom Baptist

We got kind of a late start this morning. We slept in a little extra because of Mary's late arrival last night.

We got to Freedom Baptist Church in Bogalusa, Louisiana about 10:30 a.m. and spent the day setting up. We had lots of help from the church folks and it seemed like we got set up in record time. I think we're ready for the service in the morning.

Pack, Load, and Travel

I spent the morning packing and loading our video equipment at Tabernacle Baptist in Greenville, South Carolina. I think I got away about 1:00 p.m. and headed to Bogalusa, Louisiana. I made it to the motel in Bogalusa about 10:30 p.m. tonight. Mary drove down from Little Rock and got to the motel about 1:30 a.m. in the morning. It's good to have my helper back with me.

I Survived WithOut Mary

I don't know how, but I think I have survived one of of the largest conferences of the year without Mary. Tonight was the last night of the National Intercessor Prayer Conference at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Greenville, South Carolina. I sure dredged this week without Mary's help. I don't like doing a conference by myself. I had an awful lot of activity at our display tonight but somehow I handled it. Mary will meet me in Bogalusa, Louisiana for our next meeting so that will be a big relief.
