Kansas Delorme Challenge – Day 1

Here’s a picture of our intended route for the next few days. The green highlighted squares represent the Delorme sections that we have already completed. I counted 33 squares yet to complete. The goal is to find at least one cache in each of the squares that are not highlighted yet.

We piddled around this morning and did not get away from Kansas City until about 10:30. Much later than we had planned. We are driving Robby’s car. We hope to get around 28 miles to the gallon of gas. We’re leaving town with a full tank.

It’s a beautiful day with just a few clouds in the sky. It was about 41 degrees this morning. I must be a nut for wearing shorts on a morning like this.

We drove about 190 miles before we got our first cache at Butler State Fishing Lake. This is in Delorme Section 76. Our one an only section to claim today.We spotted this man with his big bird while driving down the street in Augusta.
