Steve's Blog

I try to use this blog to record something about my life everyday.

Name: Steve Brown
Location: Little Rock, Arkansas, United States

On December 31, 2007 I left my job with Sprint/Embarq where I worked as a Software Engineer for 15 years at the Sprint Campus in Kansas City. In January 2008 Mary and I started Steve Brown Ministries and started traveling the United States broadcasting "Live Video" of Revivals, Bible Conferences, Mission Conferences, and other Special Services. Mary and I enjoy serving the Lord Jesus Christ and traveling to churches as we minister through SteveBrownMinistries.com. We are very pleased that our ministry is endorsed and we are sent out of our home church at Heritage Baptist Temple in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Completed the Missouri Delorme Challenge

My Rescuers

This morning the very first cache was a hard one. I had to climb a mountain in Markham Springs State Park. Somewhere up the mountain I lost the trail and had to bush whack to the cache. It was a hard climb. After a couple easy caches I had a real doozy. The Perfect Hillbilly Hideout cache turned out to be quite the adventure. Here's my log message I posted to claim the cache:

This was some more wild adventure. Everything started off pretty good, but I knew this could go arey because I read the first paragraph of the description at the parking lot and realized that I did not have access to the internet and I might not be able to complete this cache. I needed this cache very badly to complete the Missouri Delorme Challenge. We had driven over a 1000 miles to finish this challenge and this was the only cache on the south end of section #55 and I was not sure I would have any better luck with the other caches in section #55 so decided I had to try this cache.
The trip to the overlook and down into the canyon went very well and I took lots of pictures. I really enjoyed this part of the adventure.

The problem started when I got to the cave and there were no rocks to count. I finally figured all the possible coordinates and decided to try one of them. It seemed to fit better than the rest. All of the possible coordinates were over 3/4 miles away. I bush whacked all the way to the choosen waypoint and got lucky. It was the correct waypoint. What a relief. At this point I had figured a better way to meet back up with Mary so I called her. Her phone would not work. I took off walking and happened up on some ladies on four wheelers. They felt sorry for me and gave me a lift back to civilation and to Mary. These ladies saved me several miles of walking and a lot of daylight that I needed desperatly to finish the Missouri Delorme Challege today.

Oh, I did put some rocks back at the cave entrance, but as it turns out they are not in the correct piles to give you a good coordinates.

Thanks for a great adventure. The cache is great and in good condition. TNLN
